Construction on the Shenyang-Dandong passenger line, Dandong-Dalian railway line and Qingdao-Rongcheng railway line began on March 17th. At the same time, construction of 10 other railway lines has also begun. These include: Haitian-Qingdao, Linyi-Linshu railways and those passing Shenyang South Railway Station, Dalian Railway Station, Shenyang Railway Station, Shenyang North Railway Station and Qingdao North Railway Station,etc.
The speed of Shenyang-Dandong passenger line is designed to reach 250km/h, cutting the travel time down from 3.5h to 1h. When completed, Dandong Port will be the nearest and the most easy-reached estuary in the eastern Northeast China.
