A series of city tours for Shenzhen residents have been launched as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of Shenzhen being named a special economic zone. The tours are part of these anniversary celebrations. The tour aims to give residents "a new Shenzhen, a feel for the new changes, and a new experience of the city". The first of the 300 Shenzhen residents and migrant workers began their tours of the city on April 18th; they were accommodated in six tour buses and embarked on three different routes from Baoye Building.

The tours of the city will be scheduled twice or three times every month and will last until the end of the year in December. Each tour will also have different themes and are destined for different parts of the city.
