Chongqing Food Streets

Bayi Road Tasty Street (Hao chi jie)  八一路好吃街

"Tasty Street" is situated at the halfway point of Bayi Road (inside the Jiefangbei Central Commercial Area), and is only a couple hundred meters long; but Hangzhou’s dumpling soup, Wuxi’s “pot-stewed meat,” Wuhan’s “Sixiang Village” snacks, and Changsha’s handmade vermicelli, all make an appearance, and are great munchies if you live or work in the area.

Ciqikou Ancient Town 瓷器口古镇
Now a sleepy port town, Ciqikou (meaning “Porcelain Harbor”), formerly called “Long Xin” was once a city made rich from its proximity to the water routes and its prosperous porcelain trade. 1000-year-old Ciqikou is currently under official preservation by the Chongqong municipal government. Restaurants are small and teahouses are numerous in this quaint little section of the big city.

Night Markets 夜市
Night Markets are a great place for combined snacking and shopping fun, or as an alternative to hitting the bars, head on over to the night markets behind Huixianlou Hotel.
