China vs. Ghana Friendly Game in Xi’an on August 15
Aug 03, 2012 By eChinacities.com

The Chinese national football team will square off with Ghana in a friendly game at Xi’an’s Shaanxi Shangshi Chengkai Stadium (陕西上实城开体育场) (formerly Shaanxi Stadium) on August 15. China’s football team has competed and been fairly successful in the Asian Cup, the Asian Games and Asian regional tournaments, but has only qualified for the World Cup once. Ghana made it to the World Cup in 2006 but experienced a real heartbreaker as they were crushed by Germany and sent home in the elimination round. They came back strong in 2008, coming runners up at the African Nations Cup, before making it to the quarterfinals of the 2010 South African World Cup. This match-up, even though only a friendly, is highly anticipated among football fans!
