On March 18th, China Southern Airlines announced that it has started offering VIP Economy class seats (class W) for domestic flights. VIP economy seats are somewhere between business and regular economy class and offers 40% more leg space than your usual economy seats. Class W is the newest addition to the traditional three-class service structure offered by airlines that include first-class (class F), business class (class C) and economy class (class Y). Starting this July, China Southern Airlines have plans to begin offering 7,000 VIP economy seats. Carriers renovated to accommodate this new passenger class will be put to use in flights from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to Beijing and Shanghai.
