China Eastern Airlines has plans to start Chengdu-Shanghai express flights within the year. During peak times flights would be as frequent as every hour. The airline company also has plans to increase direct flights connecting major cities in China, and gradually to expand to international flights to Japan, South Korea and other Southeast Asian countries.
