Starting January of 2011, mainland China is to start enforcing non-smoking policies in all public places, including indoor public gathering spaces, workplaces and aboard public transits, etc.
A spokesperson with the Chinese State Ministry of Public Health announced the news on May 10th and said that the stricter enforcement of non-smoking policies in public places is keeping in line with WHO's (World Health Organization) resolutions on controlling consumption of tobacco.
