Chengdu Transport -Subway

Currently, Chengdu has one operating metro line, Line 1. The line formally opened in September 2010 and has 16 stations. The stations are Shengxian Lake, North Railway Station, Renmin Road North, Wenshu Monastery, Luomashi, Tianfu Square, Jinjiang Hotel, Huaxiba, Sichuan Gymnasium, Nijiaqiao, Tongzilin, South Railway Station, Hi-Tech Zone, Financial City, Incubation Park and Century City.

Line 1 runs 6:30-21:30 from the Shengxian Lake Station and 7:00-22:00 from the Century City Station. It operates at 6 min and 50 sec intervals during peak hours and at 8 min and 20 sec intervals during non-peak hours.

Line 1 uses a ticketing system in which travel routes are priced according to the number of stations. The starting price is 2 RMB and the entire line costs 4 RMB. Passengers can stay in the metro for no longer than two hours per ride.

Line 2 will cover 32 stations from Xipu to Music Square. The first phase began trial operations in July 2012. The second phase (west extension) begins trial operation in October 2012.

Line 4 will cover 26 stations from Wenjiang College Town to the edge of East Fourth Ring Road. The first phase has been under construction since December 2011.
