Starting February 20th, Chengdu is now implementing different work schedules to allow for different peak hours for getting to and from work in the downtown city area – with the exception of government offices, elementary schools, high schools, and hospitals, which will keep the current work schedules. This is an effort to try and relieve some of the traffic congestion for the rush hours during the work commute and to optimize efficiency and comfort of travel for city residents.
