Chengdu Becomes Asia’s First World Center of Excellence for Destinations

Chengdu was granted the Certificate of Achievement by the World Center of Excellence for Destinations (CED), becoming the first city in Asia to win the honor. Chengdu was the first city in China and even in Asia to accept the all-round assessment under the System for Measuring Excellence in Destinations (SMED). The assessment covered aspects in tourist scenic areas, tourist information and service, transportation, cultural heritage and protection, environmental protection, convention and exhibition, catering and accommodation, marketing, as well as public security in Chengdu.
