Charles Dutoit and the American Philadelphia Orchestra will be performing at the Tianjin Grand Theatre on June 3. Charles Dutoit is a Swiss conductor, renowned for his interpretations of French and Russian 20th century music. From 1991 to 2001, Dutoit was Music Director of the Orchestre National de France, with which he toured extensively to theatres across the globe. The Philadelphia Orchestra, one of the “Big Five” American orchestras, was founded in 1900 and is celebrated for its unique virtuosity, famously referred to as the “Philadelphia Sound”.
