Changsha Transport - Bus

The bus network in Changsha runs between 6am and midnight, covering the city center and the suburbs, as well as stretching out into the surrounding areas. Buses are the best option for budget travelers: the fare is 1 RMB on a standard bus, and 2 RMB on buses with air conditioning. Rush hours are crowded.

In addition to the normal buses, there is a bus running between the railway station, the Central South University and Mount Yuelu and special tourist buses which run two routes in the city, costing 3 RMB. The East-West Route runs from the Railway Station to Martyr Park, Hunan Provincial Museum and Yuelu Park. The North-South Route goes from the Southern Suburb Park to the No. 1 Normal University, Tianxin Pavilion, Riverside Scenic Area and Kaifu Temple.

Changsha has three tourism bus lines. Tickets for sightseeing buses can be used twice and cost 3 RMB.  Line 1 starts at Changsha Railway Station and heads to Kejiao Xincun (6:00-22:00), Line 2 heads from Guitang to Huaxia (6:20-21:30) and Line 3 heads from Changsha Railway Station and returns to the railway station (6:30-21:00).
