CCTV Anchor Rui Chenggang Detained on Corruption Charges

CCTV Anchor Rui Chenggang Detained on Corruption Charges
Jul 14, 2014 By eChinacities.com

A prominent business journalist with CCTV has been detained on anti graft charges in a move that signals that the government’s anti corruption campaign is widening its scope; last month, CCTV’s Finance Channel director, Guo Zhenxi, was taken into questioning, sparking a full scale investigation into the state-run media organization.

Rui Chenggang was arrested just hours before he was due on the air as co-anchor of a nightly business news program. His co-host did the program solo, whilst Rui’s chair was conspicuously empty.

One of the show’s producers, Li Yong, was also taken in for questioning, along with a third person whose identity hasn’t yet been disclosed.

Hakaider, the guy you are refering to Yang Rui who host "Dialogue" on CCTV News. He's the one who made that comment about foreign scum being thrown out and calling Melissa Chan who worked for Al Jazeera as their China correspondent as a "shrew." Rui Chengang is known for blogging about the Starbucks in the Forbidden City and interjecting himself into a press conference in South Korea when Obama had wanted to field a question from a Korean journalist. He's also an alum of Yale University. He's a narcissistic bloke on the same level as Yang Rui.

Wasn't this the guy who said that all foreigners are scum and should be thrown out of China? Isn't he also the guy who said, "Corruption is a lubricant for a booming society." I am so soooooooo happy to read this news. This is the best news of today. Especially, because he kicked off the whole anti-foreign thing on his TV show. Turns out he is a corrupt demon. I hope they throw the book at him.
