Situated as Yunnan is – bordered by so many different nations and inhabited by so many minority groups – goods and services are abundant and various. Shopping in Kunming is reminiscent of a trip to an Arab bazaar, and while this is not known as the place to pick up brand name merchandise, natural textiles, hand-made crafts, bronze ware, and tobacco are available on every street corner.
Don't miss the animated folk markets at Golden Horse and Phoenix Memorial Archway, or the flutter of flustered pets-to-be at the Flower and Bird Market.
