Brief Intro to Fuzhou Shopping

In addition to being the capital city of Fujian province and a major port in eastern China, Fuzhou is also noted for its unique local products. Traditional handicrafts such as bodiless lacquer ware, Shou Mountain stone carvings and Fuzhou cork pictures are all known for their aesthetic beauty and craftsmanship. Together they make up the ''Three Treasures of Fuzhou''. Although Fuzhou grows a number of subtropical fruits like tangerines, litchi (lychee), loquats and longans, it is the local teas that have gained a large reputation both in China and abroad. Wulong tea and Tieguanyin tea are much sought after as they are reputed to aid in weight loss and to keep the body free of antioxidants.

Fuzhou has an abundance of shopping districts, including Dongjieko Shopping District, Wuyi Road Shopping District, Bayiqi Road Shopping District, Taijiang Road Shopping District, Zhongting Commercial Street, Cha Ting Commercial Street and Zhongzhou Island Shopping District. Fashion clothing markets include Fuzhou Clothing Shoe and Hat Market and Antai Center Night Market.
