Beijing and Shanghai Purchasing “World’s Longest Buses” from Germany?
Sep 12, 2012 By eChinacities.com

According to recent reports, Beijing and Shanghai may be planning to purchase a fleet of massive, 30 m-long triple-segment buses from German manufacturer Fraunhofer Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure System. Touted as the "longest bus in the world", the AutoTram Extra Grand can carry 256 people (at a cost of 10 million USD per bus). Impressive as it may be, the bus was recently rejected by Germany’s public transportation company, due to the exorbitant infrastructure costs that would be needed to support it. However, it seems that Beijing, Shanghai and other large cities in China, which are grappling with notoriously nasty traffic problems, may be willing to give it a go. Rumor has it that the buses may soon begin trial operations in the aforementioned cities, so keep your eyes peeled, and have your camera phones ready.

is that enough? i would expect it to be much longer , it seems long but after 10 years this bus is just not long enough i think they could double deck it or even triple deck and use it on elevated roads with stops and lifts down would be a good solution!
