Whai, one of this year's breakthrough bands in China's alternative music scene, will be packing up their synths, guitars, basses and laptops to woo audiences in Hohhot with their avant-garde sound. Whai, whose members are based in Beijing, were recently chosen to perform at the Ulsan World Music Festival in Korea – one of only two Chinese bands chosen to attend.
Many of Whai's songs are devoid of lyrics, using trip-hop, dance, experimental and rock influenced sounds to take audiences on a melodic trip to somewhere dark yet fascinating. Come along to NiNG Livehouse to fuel up on some fresh sounds.
