The city of Xiamen covers over 1.5 thousand square kilometers of land, and 300 square kilometers of water, with a population of 3.53 million people, comprised of 50 distinct ethnic groups, including Han, Manchu, Hui, Zhuang, She and Miao. Of the resident population, 1,832,194 are males, accounting for 51.88% and 1,699,153 are females, accounting for 48.12%.
