Adverse Weather Conditions Foil Beijing Clean Sky Plan, Pollution Expected November 8-11

Beijing’s plans to present world leaders with clear skies at the APEC Summit may have been foiled, as the weather departments of Beijing and surrounding areas have signified that medium to heavy pollution is on its way due to adverse and static weather conditions in Beijing between November 8 and 11.

For this reason, the highest emergency level of reducing emissions’ policies will be implemented by even more cities. Beijing and Hebei province’s most vital cities of Langfang, Baoding, Shijiazhuang, Xingtai and Handan will continue to prohibit the most polluting industries from operating. New areas to be added to that list are Tianjin, and Hebei’s Tangshan, Hengshui and Cangzhou, as well as Jinan in Shandong province.
