67 percent of Chinese singles plan to have two children, according to a recent survey on a leading Chinese dating site. The site’s 90 million singles were surveyed.

97 percent of respondents say that they have or plan to delay marriage and children until they are older than 25. 45 percent of women said that they want to wait until they are 30-35 to have children. 60 percent of single men and women have been single for more than three years. Most of these singles live in first-tier cities. 60 percent of single respondents said that they use dating sites in order to find a partner to marry.

Education, income, and other factors affect Chinese singles’ decision to date a certain partner. The idea that people who had more children were “uncultured,” is now outdated. 58.6 percent of respondents with bachelor’s degrees said they would consider having two children. 48.5 percent of those with a higher degree would also consider having a second child. 70 percent of singles earning 20,000 Yuan or more a month said that they hoped to have two children in the future.
