Guangdong police raided a counterfeiting operation in Huizhou last week, seized 210 million in fake 100 Yuan bills, and arrested 29 suspects. Police also found a printing press for fake bills, and other counterfeiting equipment.

Police from Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shantou and Jieyang came together in a joint operation to crack the case.

The People’s Bank of China announced in August that a new version of the 100 RMB bill will be released in November of this year. The new RMB will be more difficult to illegally replicate. The gang in question set up four machines in two locations in order to print as much fake money as possible before the release of the new bill.
