The second "Xianghuolong" Folk Culture and Tourism Festival will be held in Liangqing District of Nanning from Sept. 29th to Oct. 1st. More ethnic and folk elements have been added to the opening ceremony, such as the widespread "Liaoluo folk song", "Banjiu tune" and the heart breaking "Luoyuetianyin". The scene of pure original folk culture will be displayed in front of the audience.

"Xianghuolong" which originated in Shiwan town, an old town famous for its pottery in Foshan, Guangdong Province, imitates the grand spectacle of yesteryear when rows of kilns are ignited. Made of local materials, they are formed in the shape of Chinese dragons and plugged by incense. It was introduced into Gangwayao Village, Liangqing Town, in the Qing Dynasty. Originally a ceremony of igniting the kilns, "Xianghuolong" gradually developed into a folk culture activity in which blessings are prayed for the villagers on the nights of Aug. 14th to 16th according to the Chinese lunar Calendar.
