Get ready music fans, Zhangjiajie is hosting the 2009 Zhangjiajie International Country Music Week from May 14-18, as the first Asian host for the internationally well-known country music fest.

 

Stage is being set to showcase talents of 24 country music bands from 18 countries and regions across the world, and eight distinguished performing troupes from domestic ethnic groups from places like Xinjiang Uyger Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hunan.

 

Among the established international guest bands, two top-level country music bands from Tennessee, where country music first began, will show up for the event.

 

The celebration brings together industry professionals and fans alike for a week of non-stop music feast, as well as valuable opportunities to network.

 

The event will also feature a distinctive kick-off ceremony, bonfire party and music tour for each performing group in scenic spots of Zhangjiajie, a world heritage-listed tourist destination in northwestern Hunan Province.

 

Live performances to be held against natural settings like Huanglong Cave Square, Old Mill Bay, Water through Four Doors, Tianzi Mountain, four prominent spots with extraordinary sceneries will surely highlight the music festival.

 

The show's opening and closing ceremony will be broadcast live by the Travel Channel and Hunan Economic TV and retransmitted by CCTV-3 and Hunan International Channel.

 

Schedule:

May 14th: opening ceremony + Huanglong Cave bonfire party

May 15th: tour performances (Laomowan, Shuiraosimen and Tianzishan) and bonfire party in Biaozhimen Square

May 16th: tour performances (Laomowan, Shuiraosimen and Tianzishan) and bonfire party in Biaozhimen Square

May 17th: tour performances (Laomowan, Shuiraosimen and Tianzishan)

May 18th: closing ceremony in Gezihua Theatre
