1) Check out the Hui Park Folk Customs Temple FairView In Map
Temple fairs are an important and traditional part of the Chinese New Year celebrations. Every year, temple fairs take place across the country, becoming a lively gathering point for locals and an interesting insight into Chinese culture for foreigners. Check out the temple fair at Hui Park (徽园), where a number of traditional performances, a food street and a kids playing area awaits.

2) Don’t miss the special Spring Festival exhibits at Anhui Provincial Museum View In Map
This Spring Festival, while not browse the Anhui Provincial Museum (安徽省博物馆) and uncover all its hidden treasures? This Spring Festival Golden Week, visitors can enjoy an exhibition of works by Pan Yuliang (1877-1977), an award-winning painter, renowned for being the first woman in the country to paint in the Western style. Or, how about a trek through the age of dinosaurs in the paleontology exhibit? Other highlights include an exhibition of ancient buildings and a German encaustic painting exhibition.

3) Watch a 4D Movie at the Hefei Science MuseumView In Map
Anything beyond 3D was beyond many people’s imagination not so long ago, but things change fast in the world today! Now, you can go and experience, feel, breath, see and hear 4D all for yourself. Where else but at the Hefei Science Museum (合肥科技馆) of course! This Spring Festival, the museum will be screening a 4D version of the Blockbuster epic Independence Day in the big room on the first floor.

4) Welcome the new jellyfish at the Hefei Ocean WorldView In Map
Lots of new jellyfish breeds have found a new home at the Ocean World. Come along and welcome these mysterious little creatures or enjoy a special Spring Festival performance at the venue. Another item of good news from Ocean World is that one of their oldest residents – a seas turtle – is celebrating its birthday in the New Year. Come along and extend him/her your wishes.

5) Enjoy half price entrance at former residence of Li Hongzhang View In Map
Entrance tickets to Li Hongzhang’s former residence (李鸿章故居) are slashed in half from Feb 3-9. an important minister in the late Qing Dynasty (1616-1911), Li Hongzhang’s former residence is a spectacular building complex with beautifully carved beams and painted pillars. Take advantage of this chance to stroll around the amazing buildings for only 25 RMB per adult.

6) See the daffodils bloom at the Botanical GardensView In Map
The longer you stay in China, the more you appreciate nature – especially when it smells as good as fresh flowers! Well, the good news is that Hefei Botanical Gardens (植物园艺梅馆) will be displaying lots of beaming, golden daffodils from Feb 2-14 this year. Watch tem toss their heads “in a sprightly dance!”
