Blogs were typed, votes were cast and awards were presented; despite a hugely successful first blog contest, we can’t help but yearn for more tales from our talented community. To satisfy this longing, we’ve decided to launch a brand new China blog contest starting this July 17th! This time the contest will stay open until September 30th, giving all you bloggers out there plenty of time to get your creative juices flowing.

Following in the footsteps of the first contest, we’ll be handing out a range of prizes (more below) to the most voted articles and the best written ones. This time, we’ve also added a lucky prize given to the author of a randomly selected blog.  Sound tempting? Read our contest guidelines below and start channeling the inner writer in you today!

Theme and Submission Period

To enter the contest, all it takes is an original article that's at least 400 words long and related to summer in China, holiday ideas in China or activities in China. This article must then be posted in the Community Blogs section. If the article complies with the community guidelines, it will be published in the community blogs section and entered into the competition.

The contest submission period is from July 17 to Sep 30, 2013. Winners will be announced on the 15th of October 2013.

Prizes

1 x Best writing prize: 500 RMB Amazon Gift Card (chosen by the eChinacities team)

1 x Most popular blog: 500 RMB Amazon Gift Card (voted by the readers)

2 x Lucky prize: 250 RMB Amazon gift card (chosen randomly between all participants)

Voting system

- Best writing prize: This one will be selected by the eChinacities editors

- Most popular blog: After the entry period has closed, the eChinacities team will select the 10 blogs with the most views, comments and likes. The list will be published on eChinacities and will be the start of a voting process that allows our readers to choose the most popular blog

- Lucky prize: A blog will be selected randomly from all the blogs submitted during the contest.

- Staff, family, close friends or anyone affiliated with eChinacities is not eligible to enter the contest. Multiple submissions are permitted, but previously published material in any format including blogs, will not be considered. The content of the article must be original.
