Ads for Gold Cash Box KTV pop up in pretty much all of China’s one and two tier cities, and Dalian’s no exception. Currently Dalian has two branches of the famous Gold Cash Box in Luosifu and Xinghai. Both are easy to get to, so just pick the one that’s closest to you. The Luosifu branch is located on the fifth floor of Tianxing Luosifu International Center, Dalian’s first large scale, multi-function shopping center. Though the KTV has been here for 6 or 7 years, it took steps in 2009 to make sure it stayed abreast of the competition by installing touch screens for ordering songs and professional speaker systems.

Gold Cash Box KTV’s Luosifu branch boasts over 100 rooms of various sizes, but its most notable feature is its “golden hall,” capable of comfortably holding over 80 people and perfect for all sorts of company events, parties and ceremonies.

2) Haoledi KTV (Xinghai Square branch)

In China, the only KTV that can compare to the delights of the Gold Cash Box KTV is Haoledi KTV. Haoledi KTV is also a national chain, and several branches have already popped up in Dalian. The branch located in the Xinghai Square’s A district is definitely worth mentioning, not only because of the immaculate décor, professional facilities, unbelievably extensive collection of songs (which sadly doesn’t include many English songs) and excellent service, but more importantly because of its charming surroundings. Xinghai Square is the largest square in Dalian and it is close to the sea, so you can gaze through the windows at the Haoledi KTV to admire the beautiful seascape. Haoledi KTV even offers special rooms with great views of the ocean, but you’ll have to call in to reserve them in advance.

Of course, the fantastic location comes with a price, and coming to this branch will cost more than the average KTV trip. Expect high prices for rooms, drinks and snacks.

K8 KTV boasts over 50 variously-sized rooms, from three-five person mini rooms to VIP rooms big enough to accommodate over 50 people. Every room is distinctively designed with excellent lighting. K8 updates their song lists daily and you’ll find a huge variety of Chinese and foreign songs here. If you don't find the song you were hoping for in their system, just let the staff know. They’ll add it to their database within three days.

Even more appealing than its professional facilities and superb service is K8’s recording feature. Here, you can record your voice for free at any time – there’s no need to go to a fancy recording studio room. The fast and easy-to-use recording system makes recording your most inspired rock star moments a breeze. If you’re not satisfied with the quality, you can just delete the recording and do it over. Afterwards the K8 staff will give you a CD of your melodic masterpieces.

5) Sweetland KTV Club

Located across from the Olympic Square, Sweetland KTV Club is very easy to get to with several buses stopping nearby and a good number of parking spaces for customers driving up in their own cars. Sweetland has 88 rooms, each with its own decorative style and private bathroom. Sweetland also has a “Vienna Music Hall” that can hold up to 200 people, a dream for anyone planning company events, parties, ceremonies or other large get-togethers. Sweetland doesn’t allow guests to bring their own food and drinks into the building, but a minimarket is attached to the KTV where it can be bought.

Sweetland KTV Club’s biggest attraction is its great collection of foreign songs. There are tons of Japanese, Korean, European and North American songs, making it perfect for foreign guests.
