Starbucks arrived in Dalian in September 2005, and since that time they have developed quite quickly as one of top coffee destinations of locals and expats alike. Starbucks' Dalian flagship store in located on the first floor of the Parkland Mall and it is everything you can want from a Starbucks.  As you might expect, they have the coffee – roasted and brewed the same way it is at every Starbucks across the globe. They have the friendly and knowledgeable baristas who give you service with a smile. Of course there’s also the wide selection of coffee, and the lingo that you've grown to love, "one tall Cafe latte and a grande frappacino". They have the standard Starbucks environment: soft interior colors, lots of outside lighting, cushy sofas and WiFi access split between two floors. On the top floor you can order your drinks as well as enjoy a quiet cup sitting above the mall entrance, while the bigger, lower level provides a quieter seating area and plenty of people-watching opportunities. Isiyaki Cafe offers a balance between the big Starbucks/Amici coffee chains and the independent homey-ness of I-55. It's a quiet café and restaurant that offers a Japanese interpretation of the classic Taiwanese cafe. Like many of the other Asian style cafes in Dalian, Isikaya offers a full menu of curries, noodle dishes and Japanese-styled meals in addition to a selection of coffee and tea. What sets Isikaya apart though is the ambiance: jazz music, comfortable and cozy seating, and friendly staff. This is not the place you'd come to surf the internet, but more likely read a good book or relax with some friends

Tina's Cafe is another place that hits the right balance, but with a great Chinese-Western fusion of themes. At Tina's, you get a great atmosphere that is spacious and quiet, with soft lighting and comfortable seating. The staff in friendly, and the coffee is good and reasonable priced. There is also a full menu of Chinese and Western style dishes in case you’re hungry, as well as WiFi access. A great place for a peaceful evening sip.
