There’s no telling how people react to hallucinogenic drugs: some may spend hours fixated on a tiny detail, others may attempt to “fly” off a building; but generally speaking the biggest danger is to themselves. A man in Hebei Province proved otherwise however, when he unleashed a heard of Tibetan Mastiffs on a poor woman who was at the wrong place, at the wrong time.

The incident occurred on October 6 in Chicheng County, Jiajiangkou City in Hebei Province. After taking an unidentified “drug”, Mr Wang experienced strong hallucinations to such a degree that he decided to set loose six Tibetan mastiffs, an action that resulted in the mauling of a 75 year-old Ms Xu, a passerby who was just outside to take out the garbage. Xu was dragged to the ground by the dogs in the altercation and suffered extensive injuries as a result; her right arm was fractured, and both her legs became mangled.

Mr Wang has been detained in custody where is has confessed to the particulars of the crime. A case is already pending against him.

According to the report, Tibetan mastiffs belong to the "dangerous" category of dogs. In Jiajiangkou, dogs over 35 cm in height are forbidden to be owned by residents; any special cases of residents seeking to raise dogs above that size must first seek authorization from the government and adopt special provisions as a result, like having the dogs locked up.
