A Chinese woman suspected of stealing a six-carat diamond worth over 10 million baht (about 2 million Yuan) was arrested in Bangkok and taken to the hospital where the gem was surgically removed from her intestines.
The woman was caught on security cameras at Bangkok’s 56th International Jewelry Show on September 10. She and her male counterpart were arrested leaving the country at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, according to the BBC.
She was taken to the hospital and was given laxatives to remove the diamond. When this failed to get it out, doctors performed a colonoscopy to remove the stone from her intestines.
