River in Wenzhou Turns Mysteriously Blood Red

River in Wenzhou Turns Mysteriously Blood Red
Jul 25, 2014 By eChinacities.com

A river running through the city of Wenzhou in eastern China mysteriously turned blood red at around 06:00 this morning, baffling local residents and environmental officers alike.

According to local residents, the river looked completely normal at around 04:00 but began to turn red just two hours later.

There are apparently no known chemical plants upstream of the river; one villager who has lived by the river his entire life said that this has never happened before.

Inspectors from the Wenzhou Environmental Protection Bureau have taken samples in order to analyze what caused the river to take such a biblical turn.

The article stops where the truth is told on the other side of the river...in the Western side of the world. Here is what the news are saying that actually is happening. " A waterway in eastern China has mysteriously turned a blood red color. Residents in Zhejiang province said the river looked normal at 5 a.m. Beijing time on Thursday morning. Within an hour, the entire river turned crimson. Residents also said a strange smell wafted through the air. Inspectors from the Wenzhou Environmental Protection Bureau said they have not found the cause of the incident, although water samples seem to indicate the suspicious color was a result of illegal dumping in the river. “We suspect that somebody dumped artificial coloring in the water because he thought the typhoon yesterday would cause heavy rain, and nobody would notice [the color],” Jianfeng Xiao, Chief of the bureau told China News. “It turned out there wasn’t heavy rainfall yesterday, so the evidence is left behind,” Xiao said. Xiao said there is a paper manufacturer, a food coloring company and clothing-maker a long the river. The bureau is still investigating the incident." “The really weird thing is that we have been able to catch fish because the water is normally so clear,” one local villager commented on China’s microblogging site Weibo. " Now, seriously, the article echinacities is meant to misinform stating that "There are apparently no known chemical plants upstream of the river;..." Hey pseudo journalist, would you say that again after reading the real news? It looks that the government is aware of those 3 factories and one of them is responsible for this high scale contamination. Again, shame on you people determined to destroy your own country.

Now THAT makes sense. This sounds more like the truth than all the other BS.

If it was algae the answer would have been known instantly by looking in a microscope. And there would have been a history of this. Somebody dumped chemicals in the water, clearly. But we will never know because there will be no follow up.

It's not like I'd want to return to Wenzhou anyway.

It's just algae. Happens with the right combination of heat and water condition.
