Yesterday at around 01:00, 37 year-old Mr Peng (alias) of Runan County in Zhumadian city, Henan Province, was returning home after an evening of drinking with his friends. Because he had forgotten his keys, Peng scaled a neighbor’s wall in order to get back home. However, while crawling over the two meter-high wall, Mr Peng accidentally fell down directly upon the wooden handle of a steel rake causing 28 cm of it to be lodged in his rectum.

After being admitted into the county hospital, Peng was transferred to the provincial hospital at 07:00 because the rake was “too long” and “too thick”. Auxiliary firefighters from Jinshui District were called in to assist with the operation, which began at 11:30. The operation proved to be difficult as the end of the rake pierced through the base of his spinal column and tapped upon his spinal nerve.

Yesterday afternoon at 15:00 after four hours of surgery, the rake was finally removed by two specialists.

After having the stick removed from his bum, Peng is said to be a lot more fun to be around.
