One particularly stingy school in Hunan has come up with a great plan to make money off its students by charging them 1 RMB to sleep at their desks at lunchtime, purportedly to help the school cover management costs during lunch time.

According to Xinhua, the school managed to get around 130 RMB each from around 100  students before they were caught in the act. One student also told reporters that although the students were being charged for ‘management’, no teachers were present while they napped.

Netizens have decried the miserly actions of the school and local authorities have decided to launch an investigation into the school’s conduct.
