Guangzhou Art Professor Fills Toilets with 6000 Roses to Declare his Love

A professor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts recently chose an unusual way to express his love for his new bride: he stuffed 6000 roses (yes, he counted them) into dozens of toilet bowls. If that didn’t win him cookie points for creativity, then the positive reactions from netizens (yes, they see and know everything) must have.

“Such talent! Awesome!” said one netizen. However, not all had positive things to say: “Stuffing roses into toilet bowls in the first few days of being married must have been a little unpleasant,” commented one person. “Would his wife accept a bunch of roses from a toilet bowl?” quipped another.

In reaction to the comments, the professor in question – famous pottery artist and professor Wei Hua – responded by saying that since he’s already over 50 and his new wife is only a little over 20 he constantly says to her “we suit each other as much as a rose in a toilet bowl.” As to whether the wife liked his unusual expression of love, Professor Wei said, “She’s also a pottery artist and understands and supports my way.”

How romantic!
