Graduate Students Steals BMW From Showroom to Show Off to Friends

Graduate Students Steals BMW From Showroom to Show Off to Friends
Dec 11, 2013 By eChinacities.com

Wanting to show off to friends is normal. Usually it is about the hotness of the person you just hooked up with, your great travelling escapades, your latest new gadget etc. These are normal, though FYI the travelling tales often just annoys people, unless you figure out how to tell it well. But stealing a car, to show off your ‘ostentatious wealth’…well that is just dumb.

And with that we welcome Yu Shuqing. Now Yu’s family is not doing too badly, he does have a car worth about 200,000 RMB, but he couldn’t just brag about that. He started bragging about everything. Then he started bragging about stuff he didn’t have. He told his family and friends that he had started his own company, and it was of course doing really well. And what do all successful business men need? A BMW GT series luxury car.

Yu travelled to the BMW showroom in Changsha, from Wuhan where he lives, and asked to test drive a BMW GT series, and then of course, he put the pedal to the metal and drove off. Pictures were taken so he could brag to his friends, but 20 hours later he was caught by police…because that is what happens when he steal a car from a showroom in broad day light.

Ahh, doesn’t materialism make some people dumb.

You are doing a good job consistently with this entire thread proving what a moron you are, mike605ca. Which part of your near retarded brain got the idea I was a teacher? I am not, moron. I have my own driver in China, although I drive occasionally myself. 2nd car? What a laugh! You little pathetic ego is trying to win this arguement in desparation. From the beginning, you have shown everybody what a moron you are. Didn't dare to tell how long you have been in China, lest it exposes how shallow your understanding of how Chinese deal with their employees? What a low life!

I don't see a way to send a direct message so I will send it here... The reason that you have to rant about teaching here are the exact reasons why our organization exists in the first place. We are looking for more people whom are highly passionate and dissatisfied with the status quo and whom are also willing to take action to make this world a better place. We didn't read all your rants. Just the one about your current employer. Should we be worried about the others? ;)

Who got hurt? How about the salesman who probably got demoted, or fired? Would you be laughing if you are that salesman or owner of that company when you learnt of the stolen car? Or, someone got inspired and worked up other scams and did it with other businesses....it can be you or someone close to you one day...life has many ways of teaching people lessons. Grow up!

well obviously you walk to work because if you drove you would know that the salesman wouldnt have gotten in any shit at all. When you test drive a car in China, you show your license and ID and sign a waiver. Which he did, so the salesman wouldnt take any responsibilty at all. You have no idea what you are talking about. Its not a scam, you idiot, of course he wasnt gonna keep it and the dealership go the car back. So in the end find someone who got hurt. You trolls need to lighten up, its a funny story, thats why it was posted. Jeez

He drove the GT about 350km, so now it's a used car. But I'm sure you can rationalize that, too.

You obviously didn't read the original chinese article nor my translation, which pointed out that he had fake IDs and credit cards. It is a scam, moron! I drove to work then I would know nothing would happen to that salesman? What kind of logic is that? How do you know nothing happens to that car salesman? Are you his boss? You are an immature brat who have plenty of growing up to do, including learning how to read, be it Chinese or English, and then learning how to think!

jesus, your dense, it doesnt matter that the ID was fake. The point is that the salesman did his job and doesnt take responsibility for it. How do you know he was fired or demoted? Did your chinese article say that or did you just pull that out of your ass?

it was always a used car my friend. Its a demo ...used for people to drive it. Why is this so hard to understand?? Its the same back home in your country i am sure. Yes I will agree that he drove it longer than he should have. But it already had km's on the thing.

When a rmb 831,000 car was stolen under a person's custody, ask any Chinese boss if he would say to the employee who is responsible for the safety of the car, "Everything is OK. You aren't responsible in any way". This is China, moron. Which part did you fail to understand when I wrote "probably demoted or fired"? Start learning how to read English!

Yes, all BMW dealers keep a half-dozen GT demos on the lot. I mean, they don't want full price for a GT, do they? Nahhhh run up the miles. I bet they drive them to the KFC every day for kicks.

Your English comprehension skill does justify your going back to kintergarten. How long have you been in China? How much business interactions with mainland Chinese do you have? You are nothing but a spoiled brat who need to go back to kindergarten. With your kind of attitude, I doubt if any kindergarten would accept you though, unless your parents bribe their way through for their near retard kid.

Some people don't view it as a measure of courage, but rather a measure of stupidity or reckless disregard for other's property. But don't worry, generally the adults in charge will make ration decisions regarding his actions.

yeah mike, im not afraid to steal a car, its just something I wouldnt do. I pay for everything I have and my family has. If you think its about balls (stealing other people stuff) then you have been in china too long or you are chinese. If you think stealing other people stuff is funny, then you need to be shot as people like you are one of the problems with society.

I'd think of myself as a lower form of life, selfish and damaging to social values, if I ever found myself posing for a picture in front of a luxury car. For me, the feeling comes natural, but I'm surprised how few people nowadays don't even understand the basis for my feelings at all.

I would as well, its stupid and vain, but its also funny. You people are so self righteous. Its a story in the " wierd china" section, and you guys wanna turn it into a forum of poor chinese morals. Get off your high horse people. More cars are stolen for joy rides in a week in north america then chinese could manage in a year. You guys arent sitting on any moral high ground, your either humourless wastes of space or trolls, i hope for your sakes its the latter

Accusing people of trolling is usually a bad sign, more for the accuser than the alleged troll. I just realised your profile pic is of you posing in front of a car, and I just want to say that I hadn't noticed it when I said the above. And I agree it makes for another hilarious news piece, but I already said that. As for your comment about balls: It takes courage to endure the 'humiliation' of losing face in front of your peers by not being able to compete with a luxury sportscar. He didn't show courage; he ruined his family's reputation and got a criminal record all because he wanted to keep bragging. He has a laughably weak character, and you need to understand that *that's* the real joke here.

"据销售人员回忆,于树青之前的三次试驾,已经开过了宝马(BMW)X5、X6系列,但一直都不满意。最后于树青选中了宝马GT系列,一辆裸车价值83.1万元的车。于树青和销售人员来到4S店门前空旷的大马路上,准备试驾。销售人员刚帮于树青系好安全带,关上车门,还来不及上副驾驶座,于树青一踩油门,将车子开走了。" The chinese article says the low life went to the showroom 4 times. The first 3 times he tried out the X5, X6 series, saying he wasn't satisfied with them. The fourth time he picked the GT series, costing RMB 831,000. He drove off before the accompanying salesman had time to board the car. In another part of the article, it says the first thing he did was went to his friends and took pictures. He came from a reasonably well-off family, already owning a RMB 200,000 car. He also did his homework, dressed smart, bought an Apple's luxury "gold iphone" (I don't know what it is, you guys probably do), and faked ids, fake credit cards ...etc. Coineineagh nailed it. Face-wanting, with no moral standards, are the mark of mainland Chinese these days. Their biggest fear is people looking down upon them, saying they know nothing, they are poor, farmer boys/girls, ....etc. All these comes from a slave mentality, 5000+ years of absolute dictatorship (even today, there is only one party ruling). Slaves don't have a face, they are tradable commodities. Yet, don't sympathize with them, their psyche is warped, distorted, and they have sharp claws and venomous teeth! Pathological society China is, sick people with sick psyches roaming all around.
