Didi Kuadi released a car-pooling service called Didi Shun Feng Che last month. The service matches drivers who want to share costs during a commute or ride with riders looking for a cheap trip in the area. The cars used by Didi Shun Feng Che are unmarked ride shares, which confused a drunk husband recently in Jiangsu who thought that his wife was being picked up by her lover rather than a hired driver.

Last Friday night, Didi Shun Feng Che driver Liu picked up a woman named Wang and her child. Wang's drunk, jealous husband Dong misunderstood the situation and punched Liu in the face.

Liu said that Dong, reeking of alcohol, ran over to his car and began to kick the side. He asked Liu what he was doing with his wife. Liu responded that he was just a driver. In response, Dong punched him several times in the face and neck. He then tried to get his wife and child out of the car.

“There should be a sign that it is a taxi cab. It does not look like a hired car coming to pick her up. It looks like they are having an affair,” said a witness. Others disagreed, saying that the ride-share looked pretty standard and it would be hard to misunderstand what was going on.

The two sides were taken to the police station so that the police could mediate the dispute. Liu was taken to the hospital. Dong agreed to pay 300 Yuan for Liu's medical expenses and a one-time compensation payment of 500 Yuan.
