A Chinese woman was killed and her French husband was injured in a stabbing attack in Beijing's Sanlitun area yesterday morning.
The couple was randomly attacked and stabbed by a passerby near the south side of Sanlitun Bar Street. The two were taken to a nearby hospital where the woman died of her injuries.
Photographs of the incident show the woman on the ground, bleeding from her abdomen and the man crouched at her side, helping her.
Video from the area shows the attacker wielding a meter long knife pacing by the entryway of the Sanlitun Uniqlo. Police quickly arrived at the scene and subdued him.
Witnesses said that the man stabbed the couple while they were walking into the Uniqlo store.
The victims were a newly married transnational couple. The woman, surnamed Gu, was from Shandong, and the man was from France. The couple had just gotten married on August 4 and had planned to move to France in a month.

The man was a loser. He had no chances to have a sex with a girl and was jealous that white man even it they are losers they can easily find Chinese gf. As he was crazy he couldn't stand that they are going to have sex in Uniqlo (that's what he was probably thinking) and decide to kill them.

wow! I simply cannot fathom how some person could be so filled with hate! To cold bloodedly, viciously murder a young woman for what is basically no reason. What a horrible life he must have led. Well, I guess he has effectively ended his life too. RIP young lady.

Not trying to justify his actions, that can never be excused. But yes people can get so incredibly full of hatred if there is frustration involved. My theory is the man couldn't find a girlfriend and was sexually starved to the breaking point. The foremost goal of life is to pass on our genes, this is an primal instinct that mankind can't seem to overcome. For most people, if one can't find a partner then one's life seems meaningless.

This is a direct result of Xi's reinforced nationalist campaign. China needs to slow down with its anti-foreign propaganda or there is going to be more tragic events like this one. Until one day this is a high-profile foreigner (e.g. ambassador) who ends up being killed in China, last time this happened in Bosnia, WW1 started.

The censors must have struggled how to present this news in such a way as to absolve state-controlled media of guilt or wrongdoing. "Randomly", and no mention of "I hate Americans". Perhaps the writer needed EVEN MORE delay before releasing the story, to come up with a better version.

I guess he never met either of them before, and that he's bitter that his mother hasn't been able to arrange a girlfriend or decent job for him, probably because he has nothing going for him and has an obnoxious personality but still thinks he should be given everything he wants because he's 'special'. He would never have a chance with the girl and he knows it but rather than try to improve himself and face reality he blames foreign guys for his own sense of inadequacy.

Randomly no, they were attacked because he was a white guy with a Chinese woman. Passerby, no he was there waiting to attack a foreigner. I see we are trying to downplay what this was really about.
