Bus Driver Notices Thief On Board, Drives Bus to Police Station
May 31, 2013 By eChinacities.com

On May 27, a woman surnamed Liu was riding bus number 11 towards Guangzhou’s Shiqiao Bus Station. Liu noticed that a man was trying to undo the zip from her backpack, and quickly pulled the bag over to her side. When she gave the thief a nasty glace, he quickly hopped to another seat on the bus.

When the bus arrived at Shiqiao Bus Station, the assailant tried once again to grab another passenger’s bag amid the sea of people getting off. Luckily, a quick thinking passenger was quick to notice and told the bus driver that there was a thief onboard. The driver then closed the doors of the bus, and drove straight down to the Panyu District Public Security Bureau. When he arrived, the driver let one passenger off to go and tell the police about the situation.

Police questioned one suspect who denied that he was trying to steal any passengers’ possessions. Police then turned their attention to another suspicious character on the bus, and found a Samsung phone underneath his seat that didn’t belong to him.

After further questioning, police managed to get confessions from both men who were in fact working together as thieves on the bus. Both men, one named Chen, 38, and other named Zhang, 43, were from Hunan and are currently in police custody.
