1) World's Tallest Female Model

Australian men’s magazine Zoo Weekly brought in a 2.05 m (6 ft 7) American model for its November 2009 cover shoot. The super tall model, named Eva, towered over the 1.62 m (5 ft 3) Australian girl posing next to her for the purpose of compare and contrast. The editor of the magazine commented: “No magazine would hire a model over 7 ft tall (2.13 m), but we broke all the rules in having her pose for our shoot. Her bikini was custom-tailored to her size and all, and we're very happy with the effects.”

2) World's Tallest Horse

Poe is a horse measuring nearly 7 ft tall (2.13 m) and weighing around 3,000 pounds (1,361 kg). His owner Thompson is applying for the Guinness World Record for tallest horse. The world's smallest horse stands only 8 inches (0.2 m) tall. Poe, the giant horse, consumes 10 pounds (4.5 kg) of food and 75 gallons (284 l) of water a day. “My horse is very famous around here – for his gigantic size obviously. Everyone's timid around him, but he's a gentle animal really,” Thompson says.

3) World's Tallest Bridge

The Millau Viaduct is a huge cable-stayed road-bridge that traverses the River Tarn in the south of France. It was completed on December 14th, 2004 and opened for operations on December 16th of the same year. English architects and French engineers collaborated seamlessly on this prized creation. The Millau Viaduct is the world's tallest bridge, hovering 314 m (1,030 ft) in the air – higher than the Eiffel Tower and only 40 m (131 ft) shorter than the Empire State Building in New York.

4) World's Tallest High Heels

This pair of super tall high heel shoes has heels measuring 16 inches (40.64 cm) at the back and 11 inches (27.94 cm) in the front. Can you even imagine what it must feel like to wear one of these heels? Even a 5 ft (152.4 m) woman would tower above most women just by putting on one of these babies. If clowns should want to wear them for a circus performance, they'd better watch out – because tripping over one of these heels is never a laughing matter.

5) World's Tallest Building

Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, is home to a building called Burj Dubai or Dubai Tower, one of the world’s super skyscrapers and the tallest building accomplished by men to date. Its highest point is a towering 818 m (2683 ft). Construction on the tower started in 2004 and is due to be completed in 2010. The budget for the entire project is around 4.1 billion USD (28 billion RMB). The CEO with one of its developers, Emaar Properties, had been quoted as saying: “The price of office space at the Dubai Tower has reached over 40,000 USD (273,166 RMB) per square meter, while that of the Armani Residences, also in Dubai, were selling for 37,000 USD (252,673 RMB) per square meter.”

6) World's Tallest Snowman

The world's tallest snowman in all accuracy should be called a snow-tower instead. This snow tower is located in Maine of USA and stands 122 ft (37.19 m) tall. It has old snowboards for eyelashes and old tires painted red for lips; it also dons a red hat and an equally red scarf measuring 1100 ft (335.28 m) in length, with golden braids of rope for hair – 2,400 local residents pitched in to help build the giant snowman. As they had built the world's tallest snowman, the local residents had hoped that others would come to challenge their feat and build a taller snowman still; but since no willing challengers had stepped forth, locals had decided once again that they would try and challenge themselves at building a still taller tower of snow...

7) World's Tallest Lego Model

Americans are always one for challenging bigger feats and they’ve finally succeeded in breaking world records for building the tallest Lego model. This Lego tower is 94.3 ft (28.74 m) tall and was constructed with over 460,000 blocks of Lego. The American tower beats the previous record for tallest Lego tower, a 93.43 ft (28.48 m) tall built in Denmark in 2006.

8) World's Tallest Fountain

Just as the world's tallest building is located in Dubai, the world's tallest fountain has also found home in the commercial hub of Dubai. To the rear of the 30 acres of lake surrounding the Dubai Tower, this record-breaking fountain can spurt water 150 m (490 ft) into the air – that of the height of a 50-storey building. The fountain measures 275 m (900 ft) in length and was designed by the same company that had designed the fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The constructions cost around 217 million USD (1.5 billion RMB); it has more than 6,600 lights and 25 color projectors installed, with completely automated digitally-controlled music-water displays.

9) World's Tallest Thermometer

This humongous thermometer stands to the side of Interstate 15 in Baker, California, United States and reaches a height of 134 ft (40.84 m). It has become a landmark in this little town which proclaims itself to be the “Road to Death Valley.” In the heat of summer, the thermometer can record up to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37 C) – a tribute to the record high temperature recorded in the summer of 1913 nearby Death Valley, a sizzling134 degrees Fahrenheit (56.57 Celsius). The construction for the thermometer was funded by a Baker businessman in 1991 and the outstanding landmark is located adjacent to a famous seaside restaurant and the Mojave National Preserve.

10) World's Tallest Tree

In a wonderfully preserved forest in remote parts of California, the world's tallest tree – a red pine – has been discovered. A professor with Humboldt State University commented: “This record-breaking red pine stands 379.1 ft (115.55 m)tall, beating the previous known tallest tree in the world, which stood at 370.5 ft (112.93 ft).” Researchers on expeditions in remote forests near the northern ports of California recently discovered two other giant redwoods just like it, this could mean the discovery of an ancient breeding ground for these redwoods – one that has remained undisturbed through the ages.
