Four Criteria for a NBA Cheerleading Babe
It takes more than just a sexy figure and a pretty face to become a NBA cheerleader. There are four criteria to be met:

1. Talent Comes First, Beauty Second
When the NBA teams pick out their batch of babes for their cheerleading squad, many stick with the criterion that promotional work and talent comes first and foremost, and then beauty. Utah Jazz has added 17 new cheerleading dancers this game season, all of them chosen for their dance skills first and beauty second.

2. No Prostitutes
The NBA has clear rules and regulations about prostitution and other forms of sexual trade when it comes to their dancers – any applicant with a police record of prostitution will not be considered. The rules now apply to bar hostesses, erotic dancers and pornographic stars as well.

3. Hectic Schedules and Dismal Pay
NBA cheerleading and dancing is only part-time work and the cheerleaders make, on average, about 50 to 150 dollars per game. With 41 games in every season season, it is unlikely that they are able to support themselves from this career alone. Between dancing at games and rehearsals, cheerleaders for the NBA have to maneuver another part-time job or two in order to make ends meet.

4. No Hook-Ups With Players
NBA teams also have regulations against off-game liaisons between dancers and NBA players. But many such sex scandals do come to surface, as players looking for sexual hook-ups are easily matched with the babes in search for a lucky draw to stardom. If such were the case and the scandal was discovered, then the team ousts the named cheerleader without exception.

How is the Pay for the NBA Babes?
NBA cheerleaders earn dismal pay when compared with the big players. But they have their own high and low earners, with some cheerleaders and dance teams, like the Lakers girls, averaging 200 dollars per person at every game.

Some NBA teams choose to pay their cheerleaders by the hour; the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns pay their dancers about 25 dollars an hour. If you calculate in the warm-up before games and the actual performance time, then cheerleaders average about 7 hours every game, a total of around180 dollars a game.

Most teams however pay their cheerleaders little to no salary at all. Most cheerleaders only bring in 'tips' for their services, and not proper wages – with some earning as little as 50 dollars a game.

The 33 year-old did modeling, acting, and hosting gigs after her cheerleading days but in the end, her love of basketball brought her back to the Lakers.
