The ever classic burger: a favorite for all and perfect in every season. It’s easy enough to slap a burger on a menu, but to take home the prize of boast-worthy burger is much more of a challenge. Several restaurants in Beijing boast a fantastic burger but are they worthy of the burger challenge? We’ve gathered a list of burger joints that made the cut and done some serious sampling. The verdict is in – here are some of the top burgers in Beijing.

Blue Frog Bar & Grill

This favorite hangout is well known for its consistently good food and service. Topping the list of most impressive menu items is the burgers. This menu is not for wimps; if you order a burger, be prepared for a “burger”. Towering over the plate, these burgers are topped with a selection of cheeses, dressings, sautéed onions and mushrooms, avocado, fresh veggies, fried onion rings, the complete works, etc. The chef will cook to order so you get your enormous meat patty as pink or brown as you wish.  The buns are always fresh and toasted to perfection. Accompanying the mega-burger is a choice of regular or sweet potato fries, or hand-battered onion rings.

Not hungry for a massive beef-burger? Blue Frog keeps small appetites in mind with their order of sliders: mini burgers which you can mix and match to get a sample of different varieties. Perfect for any season, you can dine outside to enjoy the view overlooking Sanlitun Village, or inside enjoying upbeat music and modern décor. The drink menu is quite extensive with a full bar of liquor, several imports and domestic beers and a decent wine list. While it isn’t known for cheap prices, they do offer a “buy 1 get 1” burger special every Monday from 16:00 to late.

 Lets BurgerView In Map

The name says it all. When your title is what you do you have to be good at it, and Let’s Burger surely knows how to serve them up. Let’s Burger features a long list of burger selections from a simple cheeseburger to a wagyu beef burger, and even let’s you build your own monster burger. A favorite, distinctive characteristic is the condiments bar with a multitude of burger toppings and dipping sauces for fries. The bright, lively restaurant features an open kitchen where you can watch the burger chefs in action from your cozy seat. The biggest customer complaint is the prices – a burger, fries and a drink can set you back between 70-250 RMB – however, there is rarely a time when the place isn’t buzzing with people. They also carry a list of non-beef burgers: chicken, fish and caviar. A burger here wouldn’t be complete without a smoothie and an order of their fabulous handmade fries.

All-Star Sports Bar & GrillView In Map

Naturally a sports bar menu wouldn’t be a real sports bar without a beef-burger. Burgers and beer seem to go hand-in-hand. While not every bar pulls off a tasty burger, All-Star works the kitchen magic to bring one of the best burgers to Beijing. This is the perfect place to watch favorite sports and enjoy a mouth-watering burger and beer with friends. All around price, quality and atmosphere make All-Star one of the top picks for best burgers. Though not as monstrous as other places, the burgers are plenty filling, and if it isn’t enough, there are several good options on the appetizer menu for an extra bite to satisfy the hunger.

Rumi Persian GrillView In Map

There are some places you just don’t order a burger, for instance: a Mexican restaurant or even a Persian restaurant. However, before deciding against the urge to order the hamburger on the menu, you should know that Rumi serves one surprisingly tasty burger. A thin beef patty smothered with cheese and topped with sautéed mushrooms between a warm sesame bun hits the spot every time if you aren’t in the mood for traditional Persian food.  While this is the only burger on the menu, it certainly does itself justice. If that isn’t surprising enough, it gets better; for those customers who always have a favorite bottle of wine in mind that the restaurant doesn’t serve, this Middle Eastern grill allows you to bring your own alcohol.

Fat BurgerView In Map

The most recent addition to Beijing’s burger scene is the American West Coast fast food joint Fat Burger. The restaurant looks and feels very much like any other fast-food joint, but the major difference is evident in the price and quality. Regular burgers will set you back 40 RMB and a choice of skinny or fat fries are available to accompany the beef patty. Despite its generic fast-food joint feel, the quality of the burgers is definitely in a different league to other major fast-food chains; beef is imported from Australia and grounded freshly every day, and the pickles are imported from the US. And if one patty isn’t enough to cure the munchies, you can order a double and triple burger for 60 and 80 RMB respectively.
