The Matador is a steakhouse chain originating from Taiwan, with four branches in Fuzhou. The dining room and food are both of good quality, giving The Matador an excellent reputation. The restaurants decoration is uniformly red, like a bullfighter's red cape. Here the emphasis is on authentic marinated and juicy steaks. No preservatives or anything to detract from the meat’s flavour. With a variety of special house sauces, the taste here is superb. Recommended are the filet mignon and T-bone steak. Special set meals come with a selection of aperitif, dim sum, salads, and soups; all are very delicate and enjoyable. Steak set meals start at a moderately priced 80 RMB.

This is a Victorian style English afternoon tea specialty restaurant. The shop owner, Mr. Huang Tenghui, decorated the place the way he likes it, with paintings of roses, porcelain and other works of art; the Aynsley bone china tea sets are a unique addition. Rose Garden has a real original Neapolitan drip coffee maker and imports French fruits for drinks. You can also choose from a selection of teas, from the hundred year old British tea brand Whittard tea, to herbal teas from the grasslands of Quebec. Coupled with a small selection of traditional British snacks, this place is great for experiencing a classical Victorian style English tea soiree.

Although Bambino is mainly an Italian restaurant, its chef studied Japanese cuisine. So the dishes here are more of a modern Asian fusion. Entering the restaurant is pleasant, it’s bright, has floor to ceiling windows, white screens, cool air and soft jazz making this place very comfortable. Their food, combining exquisite Japanese cuisine with classical Italian, is delicious. Their potato salad is soft and delicate, while their oysters are succulent. Also, try the royal filet mignon, crab legs, smooth soups, tender duck breast, and delicious vanilla tuna. Their chilled mango sago cream with pomelo is also highly recommended. Bambino’s menu is seasonal, so be sure to come back for new exiting dishes.
