Seriously China, what on earth is going on?! First we had dead pigs in Shanghai, dead ducks in Sichuan, an outbreak of H7N9, and now this?

238 dead pigs and 89 dead dogs were reported to suddenly drop dead at almost the same time in Dongtun Village near Luoyang, Henan on April 15. Although H7N9 has been ruled out as a cause, some have wondered as to whether a nearby chemical plant’s gas emissions is the main culprit. “Usually there’s a smell, today it was really bad,” said one nearby villager.

Local authorities are said to be currently investigating the cause of the animals’ death.
