A manager of a bathhouse in Dong’an, Mudianjiang was shocked when he found nude photos of female clients posted online. The manager of the bathhouse found the photos posted online. “I had heard about the photo, and immediately went and looked for it online. I found that a large number of photos were being passed around. The impact is very bad. Who would do this?” said the manager

Police said that in the photos, the bathroom is very misty and you cannot see the women’s faces. However, it is clear is the photo that the women are naked. The caption on the photo warned others not to go to the bathhouse for fear of being photographed.

“We have learned that one of the people who forwarded the photo is a young women named Ma,” said Officer Ling. Ma was brought into the police station. “I saw the photo, taken in the bathhouse that I frequent, and became angry and scared,” said Ma. She said that she had forwarded the photo to tell others not to go to the bathhouse.

Police eventually figured out that the photographer was a 40 year old woman named Liu. Liu confessed to police that she had taken the photo. “One afternoon, I had gone to the bathhouse with two friends. We were about to leave to get some food. My phone rang in my pocket, and someone in a group chat that I am in had sent an interesting photo. Everyone was really excited about it. I wanted to post something even more interesting, so I took a photo of the female bathhouse and sent it to the group.”

The photos did not cause serious harm, but Liu committed a crime in posting them, and Ma in spreading them. Ma was given a warning by police, and Liu was sentenced to one day of administrative detention on January 10.

Ma was doing a service for others by warning them that someone was in fact taking photos of nude clients. Ma should not be punished for warning others, because she was right! Someone WAS taking photos and spreading them. Yes the bathhouse took a hit to its reputation, but let's consider the reality: people do put spy cams in these types of establishments.
