University in Hunan Offers Outrageously Luxurious ‘BMW’ Courses
Apr 02, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Costing over ten million RMB, and only taking 30 students a year, the BMW course includes travelling by plane, staying in a five star hotel, getting complimentary tea and coffee during class and  upon graduating the students qualify for a coveted job with BMW. This sounds like an advert for an elite finishing school but actually it’s a class offered by a vocational school in Hunan.

The BMW teaching area is 1580 square meters in size and has been designed to imitate exactly the decor of the BMW 4S store. The grandiose teaching area cost over 13 million RMB, 6 million of which was coughed up by the school authorities, with BMW covering the rest, all in the name of training prospective BMW employees.

It’s not all fun and games though, the pressure in the BMW class is pretty extreme; students are required to study each lesson online and are tested during class hours and at every level. They also have to take modular exams. Fail a test and you get a yellow card; three yellow cards and you’re out.

Why go to such extreme methods to train their staff? BMW’s philosophy is, if their staff has never experienced high quality service, then how will they be able to provide it for their customers?

Thirty students at 10 million each? Why spend the money when there are so many Chinese companies to work for?

If they actually stay true to that testing requirement, this is a pretty good scam really. The wealthy entitled elite this sort of course will attract will never be able to buckle down and actually study hard enough to actually pass so the university can quite legitimately kick them out after only a term and keep a bundle of cash. And if by some remote chance they actually get someone good, then why the hell wouldn't BMW want to hire a wealthy, undoubtedly well connected, hard-working person. This one is win-win either way. Of course if they decide to let everyone graduate then BMW are completely idiotic and deserve the workshy layabout they've foisted on themselves.

They will graduate, then think they own the place. The courses are a waste of time and money. The service will never improve, they will only lord it over the employees that didn't pay 10mill.

One thing they know well enough, EXTRAVAGANCE! 100 million phone cover, 5 million wedding dowry, etc. Everything is overdone. I don't know if it's face saving or what but we all know that once these students graduate, they will go back to their old ways. I haven't experienced service in any establishment before, much less good service. Old habits die hard. So don't expect anything to change.

It's gonna be fully booked with "Wee I Pees" in no time. And once the first batch of trainees take their first internship at BMW, the courses will be cancelled just as fast.
