Waterwheel Park
Lanzhou’s “Waterwheel Park”, on the bank of the Yellow River, is a popular Lanzhou atraction. The waterwheel has 500 years history; it was once a water conservancy facility which utilized the impact of the natural flow of the Yellow River. Before 1952, across the Yellow River in Lanzhou City, there once stood more than 200 waterwheels, earning Lanzhou the title “capital of the waterwheel”. Now that waterwheels have been replaced by machinery, these ancient waterwheels are part of the unique scenery of the Yellow River.

Skin rafts
In the Yellow River, tourists can experience the exciting moment of drifting on sheepskin rafts, a form of transportation that’s been used on the Yellow River for 2,000 years. Many visitors also choose to enjoy the ferry that shuttles back and forth between the riverbanks.
