Shopping, Dining and More: Guide to Solana Lifestyle Shopping Park
By Ashley Johnson , eChinacities.com

Solana offers a unique open air experience to your shopping, dining and entertainment activities.  Its European feel comes with a local twist and each street is uniquely named to guide you to your desired location whether it is shopping, dining, spa treatments, movies or your favorite sports bar.  The variety of shops and brands caters to everyone; however Solana draws a mostly local market.  The atmosphere is very inviting, with the cobble stone pedestrian streets, water fountains and beds of seasonal flowers. Coffee shops and outdoor dining make it a great place to people watch or enjoy a nice waterside scene. A fantastic offering for families, a late night hangout for the night crowd and a romantic place for date night, Solana offers something for everyone so we have put together a guide to help you navigate your Solana experience.

Shopping

Solana is a decent place for shopping and the crowds are rather small compared to other popular shopping hotspots carrying the same and/or similar brands. An array of local and foreign brands and styles from trendy stores such as Zara, Mango, Motivi and Only to more upscale names such as Daniel Hechter and White Collar. Home décor boutiques where you can pick up candles, decorative pillows, picture frames, vases and more are scattered throughout the village as well. And for the fashionable adventurers, outdoor brands, L.L. Bean and Colombia are there to dress you for your next exploration or extreme sporting venture.  For expecting mom’s, Motherhood is all about babies. A shopping list wouldn’t be complete without shoes and Solana has an entire wing, and then some, dedicated to those with a shoe fetish. Brands like Italian Staccato, Carlari, Clarks, UGG Australia, Tata and more. BHG Supermarket is also conveniently located at Solana with a host of local and international brands and organic produce choices. At the entrance, there is a shopping center with a more market type feel. Vendors line the inner street and the surrounding shops sell mostly local, upscale items like jewelry and silk.

Entertainment

Saga Cinema shows the latest Hollywood releases as well as Chinese blockbusters.  All Star Skating Club ice rink is located here too and is open from 9:00-23:00. They also offer private, one on one skating lessons for all ages. Solana is great for putting on seasonal events to celebrate holidays, sporting events and even beer festivals.

Health & Beauty

UKTrendy is a L’Oreal Professional Salon offering all hair services for men and women.  There is some spoken English but the prices are rather expensive. Inside the shopping mall is a full service spa but it caters only to women, sorry fellows. They do have several beauty supply shops with a mix of well known European and American brands as well as stores with natural and organic face and body products. Sephora, La Colline, Phiten are only a few of the stores and brands at Solana.

Dining

Most of the venues are on the expensive side and are quite debatable in terms of food and service quality; however there are a few places worth mentioning. Some nice choices are Maxim’s, which is a well known French restaurant who does everything to perfections,  The Water Bar and Restaurant has an excellent spot by the lake, which is a plus but they also have some nice pieces of fish and steak on the menu as well as fresh greens and good veggie side dishes.

Scattered throughout the village are other less expensive, more casual and equally good dining spots. La Pizza for example is an excellent choice for good pasta and pizza, while it is a bit on the greasy side, it is very much authentic Italian pizza and the service is top class, with the owners constantly on watch to ensure all customers are satisfied.  Inside the mall are several good eats too, including a few local Chinese selections and a Greek restaurant with gyros and a nice Greek salad at an unbeatable price.  Italian gelato seems to be really popular here because there are several counters, strategically placed around the village so you never miss your opportunity for creamy Italian ice-cream.

Bars & Late Night Entertainment

All-Star Sports Bar happens to be a great place not only for watching your favorite sports and drinking beer but the food is really good too; the pizza, nachos or burgers never disappoint. Bling, Sex & Da City, HLG Club, After 5 and Butterfly, all of which entertain an all night dancing crowd, have a dance floor that rings in the morning hours and of course a continuous flow of alcohol.
