Shanghai Nurse Kills Boyfriend with Sleeping Pills and Insulin for Delaying Wedding

A 28 year old nurse in Shanghai drugged and killed her boyfriend for “delaying their wedding and other reasons.” Tao gave her boyfriend Luo sleeping pills and then injected him with high doses of insulin.

Yesterday morning, Tao was found guilty of intentional homicide by the Shanghai First Intermediate People’s Court. She was sentenced to death and deprivation of all political rights.

Tao worked at a branch of Shanghai #6 People’s Hospital as a nurse. She had gotten into a fight with the victim over their wedding plans. Luo had proposed that they delay their wedding, which had originally been scheduled for January 2015. Tao resented Luo for this.

Tao stole sleeping pills and human insulin from her hospital between December 2014 and March 2015. Her internet searches reveal that she also tried to buy potassium cyanide, pesticides, and other toxic materials online before deciding on the pills and insulin.

On April 1, 2015, Tao tricked Luo into taking sleeping pills at her Xuhui home. While he was sleeping, she injected him with large amounts of insulin. Tao also chatted with Luo’s friends and family on WeChat, pretending that he was fine. Luo’s central nervous system shut down and he died of respiratory failure.

On April 2, Tao’s aunt and mother called the police and reported that Luo had died in their home. Tao was questioned as a major suspect. During police interrogation, Tao lied and said that Luo had taken the sleeping pills on his own and died. After further questioning, she confessed to the crime.

"She was sentenced to death and deprivation of all political rights" I don't think she'll give a damn about her political rights when she's 6 foot under!

Stiggs

I was always curious about what political rights are being taken away from criminals.I didn't think there really were any to begin with.

Hell hath no fury like the wrath of an angry china woman. Pity her real motivations were not revealed. Or was she really just psychotic/mentally ill? No sane person would murder another for delaying a wedding. Sad case of censored journalism?
