Man Opens Emergency Exit on Airplane to ‘Get Some Air’
Dec 16, 2014 By eChinacities.com

A man who was on board Xiamen Airlines flight MF8453, shocked airline staff and fellow passengers when he opened the emergency exit of the aircraft as it was waiting for takeoff. He apparently claimed that he just wanted to get some fresh air.

Staff from Xiamen Airlines said this wasn’t the first time the man has caused problems and they simply gave the man another seat further away from the door to keep him from causing further mischief.

Fellow passengers confirmed that the man left the flight in Changsha, but weren’t sure if the man was punished for the breach of safety etiquette.

Concerned netizens who followed the story discovered that tampering with the safety door of an airplane carries a fine of 92,000 RMB.

I'm thinking "monkey see, monkey do" syndrome - kind of trending going here, as many things that happen in this country appear to be so. Like making an illegal turn at a signal light, once one person does it many tend to follow suit! So, we have in this situation, no matter what the consequences are, the urge to copy or do the same appears contageous! I guess everyone has to try it.

Seems very common with Chinese guys (always guys) opening emergency exits on planes. Maybe some actual security would be in order.

Having witnessed this (and the incident a few days ago), God is probably thinking about starting over, on another planet.

In terms of natural selection, opening emergency doors on aeroplanes is against them. But they have huge numbers in their favour.
