The food streets of Hangzhou are full of life and boast some truly delicious eats. From food stalls and hole-in-wall shops to the famous and fancy restaurants, the streets of Hangzhou have it all and we've lined up the ten best streets for culinary exploration.

1) Dadou Lu Food Street View In Map
Located west of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal (京杭大运河) and east of the shopping district, Dadou Lu Food Street (大兜路美食街) is a neat, open street clustered with antique buildings. The detailed architecture gives each restaurant a different feeling. Green Tea (绿茶) and Jiangnan Yi (江南驿) are two establishments on the street serving Zhejiang and Jiangsu cuisine that are especially popular with the young crowds. The street has a mix of popular and affordable restaurants, as well as more upscale dining rooms.

5) Hefang Jie View In Map
A Hangzhou historical district, Hefang Jie (河坊街), also known as Qinghefang (清河坊), is a microcosm of city history. The street is lined with ancient buildings dating back to the late Ming and early Qing, such as Huqingyu Hall (胡庆余堂) whose dishes include foods with Chinese medicinal properties, Wanlong Huotui Manor (万隆火腿庄) which serves traditional Hangzhou cuisine and Yangtang Restaurant (羊汤饭店) which mainly specializes in dishes from the Zhejiang and Jiangsu region. 6) Gaoyin Jie Food Street View In Map
Gaoyin Jie Food Street (高银街美食街), or Guanfei Xiang (灌肺巷), was once a famous market during the Southern Song Dynasty. The name translates to "Silver Street," because of the constant bustle and exchange of silver pieces in the market. The street runs parallel to Gaoyin Xiang (高银巷) and Qinghe Fangping Jie (清河坊平行), and boasts ancient architecture and a wide selection of local fare. It's hard to choose the best restaurant on the street, but the fried meat-filled buns at Yaobude Gaozu Shengjian (咬不得高祖生煎) and Huangfan'er (皇饭儿) are both definitely worth a try.
