Hangzhou Makes It Illegal to Run Yellow Lights
Jun 02, 2016 By eChinacities.com

Hangzhou’s newly adopted road safety regulations expressly prohibit drivers from rushing through yellow lights. The new ordinance was implemented on Monday by the Hangzhou People’s Congress.

Red light means stop, green means go, but what should drivers do at a yellow light? The new Hangzhou traffic law states that if a vehicle has already crossed the stop line it can continue. However, if a car has not already passed the stop line, it must stop at the yellow light. If the crosswalk has already turned green, pedestrians must let cars who have passed the stop line go first.
